Anime Convention Post-Game Review

What the critics are saying about the Pollards first ever Anime Convention.
A special thanks to Espresso Pizza of Lowell for donating delicious (as always) pizza for lunch!!

Well, Lori had pink hair and it was stunning.  We had some real anime experts who crushed the Anime Trivia contest.  Jamie Buckmaster gave a great workshop on drawing manga (I can still only draw stick figures, but I tried).  Pizza was great!  We’re all geared up to do it again next year.  In the meantime, Anime Club still meets every other Tues 3:30 - 5:00 at the Pollard library.  The next meeting will be Tuesday May 15th.  See ya there.

Summer Volunteering at the Pollard

If you’re looking for some volunteer experience this summer, don’t forget the Pollard Library

Over the summer, the library needs teen volunteers.  We will be doing programs for younger kids, and trying to keep the library from turning into complete chaos.  Interested?  Attend one of the following meetings at the library from more information. Wednesday May 30 3:30 - 4:00 or Wednesday June 6 3:30 - 4:00.  Both meetings will be in the ground floor meeting room.  Questions? call Beth 978.674.1543 or email me ebrassel@mvlc.org

What’s on your shelf?

Here is a review of John Green’s new novle “The Fault in Our Stars” submitted by a follower.

“The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Fault in Our Stars is, simply put, a cancer book. It’s also much more than that. It’s about Hazel Lancaster who is 16 and has terminal cancer. It’s about her life and story. It talks about leaving a mark on the world and asks so many questions that we ask ourselves everyday: “”Will I leave a mark in this world?”” “”Will I be loved?”” These are the questions we are afraid to answer ourselves.
In the end, I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Got a must read book (or a don’t bother book)?  Let us know.
